[link]"Even though I don't know where your head is at most of the time, you come up with the wackiest ideas."
A girl of a previous photography course said this to me, and it made me think about where my ideas actually come from. Though, honestly, I was stood on a chair over a few hundred multicoloured dice and being murdered by two studio lights when she said it to me.
But where do I come up with the basis for my work, my ideas? I really don't know. It just happens. If you ask me what I was thinking when I took a particular photo, I'd seriously say 'Nothing at all.', because I go into a 'zone'. I'm sure any artist, any person who has something that they just get sucked into, knows that zone. When you're in it, it's just you, your tools and a ton of possibilities that just speak to you. I don't think verbally when I take photos, though I'm not sure I really ever think verbally, but it's a process that just happens.
I like what I do. It's more than a hobby. It's more than passing a class in university. It'll probably be more than a job when and if I ever get to that point. My photography is my passion, my life. If I ever cannot pick up my camera and do what I do, I'm not sure what I'd do.
Sorry, just felt like typing.
