Identity #3: The Soldier.

Description

Not so happy with the ones from here on out. But hey, how it rolls.
P.S. This guy was so awkward and stiff, wouldn't relax enough for me to get many good shots. Some people just turn into robots in from of cameras, I swear. Should have just told him to watch TV, hold the mug and look pretty.
But, I suppose the stiff posture adds to the 'discipline', strictness? Eh... -waves hands- I'm bad with living models, boo.

About:
A short series I created based around 'identity'. It was actually a portrait project for an assignment, which I decided to swing away from the 'norm' with.
Rather than involving faces, the hands are the human identifier. You can get a sense for age, gender and perhaps history from them. The surrounding objects add to the identity of the subject.
The mug was the only thing I added to make it 'fit' my assignment brief. 'National Identity'. I really had my own ideas about it.

I wasn't going to share these, but the folder catches my eye each time I pass by it.

If it helps any. I think the stiff position only helps with the background "identity" of the person. He's a soldier, it's his job to be tense/alert.

PS. I think I know who it is. xD
